Hearth Stone
The Hearth Stone amplifier is a unique blend of vintage tube guitar amplifier construction and fresh vacuum tube circuit design. From the hand wired chassis to the custom made hardwood cabinet.
The Hearth Stone has a unique 22 watt cathode biased quad 6AQ5 output section. The 6AQ5 is a miniature version of the 6V6 and delivers a similar sound but in a smaller package. True to the guitar amplifiers of the early days, I have used cathode bias for the output tubes as well as a vacuum tube rectifier and no output feedback loop to give that classic dynamic tube sound.
The Hearth Stone does however have a couple of features not found in early amps, without changing the heart of the vintage sound. A CLEAN / DISTORTION foot switch that provides additional pre-amp gain for an overdriven sound when the GAIN control is set low or big distortion if the GAIN control is set high. As well as an FX IN / OUT foot switch that controls a tube buffered effects loop .
With the Hearth Stone design separate “pre-amp” distortion and “output tube” distortion can be achieved as well as a combination of both. The Hearth Stone Head comes standard with a walnut cabinet and highly flamed maple front and read panels. Optional cabinet woods are also available.
